Hey. First post here. I have been an avid reader of the forums for the past couple of months while I have been developing my skills with AS 7. I am about ready to start properly building specific characters, but there is one final problem I can't seem to overcome...
A small edge slightly darker then the fill seems to occur when the edge is ontop of a fill the same colour the shape is filled (hard to explain).
EXAMPLE - If I create a square that is brown, and on the same layer or another layer above the square create a triangle that is filled the same colour as the square and fits in the sqaure, there will be an edge around the triangle...
?
The edges aren't always noticeable, but can get very obvious and annoying.
When I render that file, there is a small border that appears around the triangle even though I have not created a stroke for the triangle. Even if I created a stroke and used the hide edge tool the border would still appear. The border does not appear until it is rendered.
The above is just a simple example to illustrate the problem. It may be hard to tell, but in the left image there is a small border around the triangle (sometimes it is a lot more pronounced). This is clearly shown as in the second image, as I used the paintbucket in Paint to fill around the triangle and inside it (indicating there is a border around the triangle).
Could you show me a .png of your render? No triangle border appears around the triangle?
Any solutions or ideas of how to fix it or work around it? Is it a glitch or setting problem?
This is the image I got. I have zoomed, inverted, created a new one and nothing, I see no border.
You should download 7.1 from Smith Micro page. Maybe it's a bug from 7.0.
Yours has the border around the triangle too. I can see it, it is exactly as my above picture. If you have the Paint program or similar, use the paintbucket tool and fill the square in - it will end up with the triangle showing. I then filled in the triangle and the border is left over.
When it is like that it is hard to see, but it is there if you look closely...
Thanks heaps! This has been annoying me becuase the lines can become very visable - to the point you can notice them easily without zooming or using a paintbucket tool.
Ok, I found some kind of solution. Export your animation and on export options uncheck "antialiased edges". I think it has been discussed before and, for what I think I remember, you can export your non antialiased animation at the double of the real size and then scale it to 50% on your editing software (or even on AS, if you want). This way you get rid of the weird edges and even so you obtain smooth images.
PD: to test it, you can export your animation as png sequence, but from frame 1 to 1 (to get only one png file).
Ok, so now I'm approaching what I am looking for. The only problem is that the only reasonable looking edge appears at a rediculously high resolution, which for the lengths of animation I am going to make will just crash my computer.
I may be very optimistic, but I have thought of an idea for a simple script that should fix the problem > viewtopic.php?p=102471#102471
