Problems with Animation Practice

Post by Venkman »

So I'm practicing doing some animation with a Robot character i made...

This is the problem.

I set my timeline to frame, lets say, 12. I move my character's arm up to his head and back down at frame 24 so the animation looks just like... up to the head and down again.... Now.... After the arm has done that action, I go to frame 48 on the timeline and I put my characters leg in a kind of kicking position, so that at frame 48 he has done a kick....

The problem is that I want the leg to start moving AFTER the arm has done it's action, but when I set everything up the way I just described, the leg starts moving right from frame 1

i don't want it to do that .... and when it does, it makes my face look like this -> :(
What is that?

What you need to do is go to after the arm has moved, select the leg, then right click in the timeline and select "insert keyframe". It will be a "clone" of whatever was before, so that the action wont start until that point.
