I have used Green screens a lot to add backgrounds to my videos. I usually just hang a freshly ironed blue or green bed sheet on the wall pulled tight with tacks using as much light in the room as I can get. This all worked well until now. I am trying to erase the background and import to AS but I can not seem to get a good capture. There is always a white line around the image and if I tweak It starts cutting into the image.
This is the list of software/hardware I am using.
DVD Palmcorder(Panasonic)
6 100 watt lamps
Bed sheets
Dazzle(connects the camera to the PC via component)
Sony Vegas pro 9.0
Gimp
ASP 7
Super video converter
The few questions I have are.
1 Does a store bought green screen actually provide a better result than what I am doing? If so I'll buy one.
2 Is the bad quality maybe from the component input that Dazzle uses?
I have actually imported the video into AS and saved as PNG and then imported into GIMP and used the eraser tool and got great results but at 24 frames per second it is way beyond what I have time to do.
My guess is that my camera is not high enough quality.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Stephen.
