Brent, welcome welcome. You'll find these forums awesome and an extremely useful resource for MOHO / AS animation.

Aye, I would. In fact, I have been playing the Highland Bagpipes for going on 33 years now. Not 33 years straight mind you

Is this what you did for your rotations and mouth positions?
OK, so I'm UNUSUALLY interested in knowin how you guys did this, so I'm just repeating the post because I'm hoping to get a response from Greykid.

Please excuse me....

Hi,

Sorry about the delay! I missed this one when I've been browsing!

So it's always about the infamous head turns.

Well I'll tell you how we do it...

It's all animated with the points. We actually use the software as if it were paper and create 'keys' with the same model/layer.

Easy really, but in execution you really need to understand animation and drawing seeing as we have to 'draw' the keys in the computer.

We don't scan anything after the initial image, we don't draw the keys then copy them in AS, it's all simply done with the animator animating the one models points.

Unfortunatley we cannot publish anyfiles on line for contract and copyright reasons. We sign a disclosure at the start of any job not to publish any source or media files.

Until we have enough time to put together a tutorial or a file that we create especially for that purpose I'm afraid it's a no go.

We are really trying to find the time to do this for you, hopefully we can do something soon.

The trailer for La Reine Soleil knocked my socks off. I would so see this in a theatre or on a DVD. The fact that it was done in AS/Moho is just awesome.

Can't wait for the tutorial. Wish all of GreyKid the best!

Hi, all
I've just updated my flashplayer pluging to version 9 beta (Adobe) released two days ago. I comment this because until today I couldn't see La Reine Soleil trailer.
I could not say other thing that I'm flabbergasted! (thanks to Wordrefernce for the translation  )

Hey, thanks for getting back on this one. I've been doing a lot of work in this area and a few things I discovered have been: nest the layers as much as possible (arm layer attached to torso layer attached to pelvis layer, etc.), and set aside a second for pre-animation. The latter I've used for things like eye blinks and mouth positions, etc. mostly at the vector level. I found switch layers to be a little too unpredictable and difficult to control.

I'd be thrilled to see your tutorial that you're planning. Man, it's too bad you guys are on another continent from me -I'd like to apply for work with you!
