shell out for AS Pro 6, it has faaaar better sound options, and you can use the sequencer to start your sound wherever you like just by sliding it over the timeline with the mouse, and you can add it at which-ever layer level you like. There is also that option to have your sound track with the layer position, or be immune to it.
it really is sooooo much easier!

Really, that was the big problem. in ver 5 it goes right to frame one and bam,,,ya can't move it. I researched the forums and tried to composite the scenes in AE and Director. That doesn't seem to work. So thanks for the info will look into the upgrade. I have really enjoyed AS and Papagayo. My friends and coworkers seem to enjoy the results. Once it's all done will post the finished work up my website to share. Thank you for the help.

have a look at the video demo of the new feature, it also has the auto lip sync to audio built in now. i think its well worth the the 100+ to upgrade. imagine all the time you save. Just think of how much you get paid per hour in your usual job, then think about how much time you spend trying to work around limitations of the software, and in perhaps 10 hours of workarounds, you would have paid for the upgrade.
what's your time worth?
