thank you. yes, i finally use masking, but with a fazek's little trick you recommended:Touched wrote:It's a great shaded look. Did you end up using masking? The video doesn't seem to have the fuzzy edge anymore, but the .anme file still has it when I render.
fazek's meshinstance script.
i didn't know it existed. and it's great. thank you!
i'll upload the masked .anme file soon.
this song is from the mexican band Los tigres del norte (north tigers) and is called América.Touched wrote:And now that song is stuck in my head...
it's about how the people of USA say that they are the only americans, when they are not the only.
Tigres del norte is a very controversial band, because they have contacs with narcotics traffickers and several of their songs are tributes to them.
it's very interesting phenomenon.
what the guy sing would be more or less like this:
with earth color i have born
by inheritance spanish is my language,
those of the north say i'm latin
they don't want to call me american
Yeah, as far as the "American" thing goes, I'm one of the people who is aware of the linguistic problem and makes an effort to specify "US" as opposed to the entire continents of North and South America. The main problem is that English doesn't have any convenient appellation for a US citizen other than "American". Some alternatives have been proposed over the years for this exact reason, but aren't in widespread use. "USer" is a conveniently short one that could work, though.

In spanish there is a solution for that: "Estadounidense" is a person born in the US.Touched wrote:Yeah, as far as the "American" thing goes, I'm one of the people who is aware of the linguistic problem and makes an effort to specify "US" as opposed to the entire continents of North and South America. Meshinstance is an embedded script not a menu script. I think there is a small instructions txt file with the zip one. You have to embed it to both layers the instanced and the original.funksmaname wrote:Nice work!
I tried the meshinstance script, i put it in the menu, and the only thing that it seems to do here is draw a triangle!? ('triangle' is the only option in the scripts menu...)
Could you give me a hand?

OMG! AWESOME!
i was being dumb... fixed now... also if you use layer translation you can see all the copies moving around as you move the master! so you can have lots of instances of an object that are locked to the original
it also works if the original has a bone influence!
how do you 'bake' point information? if it was animated would it create a keyframe? I just thought this is awesome for creating 3D shadows!
3D shadow ballbounce mov
anme file
sorry to hijack the thread!
--------------
another thought, it would be cool if you could offset the movement by a specified amount for each copy... that way you can make none identical multiple loops based on a single layer! good for rain, or LOADS of things!
If anyone feels up to it, try modifying the script to allow a +/- offset!
