you misunderstand: I'm willing to install that PRG - but not the new one with all that (sorry) trash.
That's why I asked if an old version (without all that trash) does it for I only use it in AS (since I work with VLC I have no need for any other viewer; I doan won't tons of soft on my PC). Particularly I'm thinking to install it 'cause I think (but am not sure) that it gives me a fast preview of the clip without exporting; am I right about that?
By tha way: I've climbed that many montains that people wonder I'm still alive

thanx to you and all others - asking here led me usually right to where I wanted to go and saved hours of experimenting; but still I do so many hours to really get into AS - it's fun … if things work out fine
Anyway: one question is left. I also render only bits of the whole scene but one thing I'm not sure of. Let's say I have a 788x576 BG, the characters are of course smaller. Now: the BG I export with the full 788x576 - how about the characters? Also that size so they fit without any hazzle in the composing PRG or better use the smallest size possible?
You always should render all elements for compositing at the same size, even if characters only use a small part of the screen.
This is because some video editors would stretch any imported material to current project size, so rendering everything right in that size saves you from trouble.

Exactly what I thought.
Thanx anyway - you people writing here are a great help …
