In version 8.1, I added an option for masking that addresses this issue. The problem was that in some cases you would get gaps in a masked object. My fix was to try to fill these gaps, but that "fix" then resulted in other cases where the mask would expand too far. So now it's an option - if you have a problem with gaps you can turn on the "Expand mask by a pixel" option. Otherwise, if you're not having a problem with your mask you just leave it alone.funksmaname wrote:One thing no one asked about, which was probably a missed opportunity, was the masking bug that was introduced in 8.0.1 to fix another bug found in 8... Personally i've not yet experienced it, but would have been interesting to hear Mike's reaction directly to the previous 'it's one or the other' stance?

Thanks Gilles -- just listened to it through a couple of times. IMO the lack of notice did mean that the audience questions were not all as sharp as the sort of dialogue we see in this and the other forum.
@fahim - unfortunately I couldn't be online, but ... next time would be good to have some notice on content so we can schedule diaries and think up some truly wicked questions for you!

I thought SVG import was a nice touch... I'll be keen to hear of users if it does a good job and if it converts the points to AS style or something random.
And the relative morph will no doubt keep many happy.
The general speech about release cycles and pro's input was of more interest to me (not as I'm a pro) but because I want to know they are taking it seriously and investing in it.
apart from that I didnt see much other content.. the term 'bugfix' was mentioned but unless they tell us what was fixed I'll have to assume *everything* ;0

Hi, I 100% agree, the notice was too short. We're trying to get this webinar process down as smoothly as possible. The good news is that, there will be more coming up in the future.hayasidist wrote:Thanks Gilles -- just listened to it through a couple of times.
