In searching the forum it seems the answer is to re-associate the 13.5 with 12 by right clicking and changing the association...which I will skip because it's no longer on my machine and it's not such a crisis that I can't live without it.

Funny I've been wrestling with this in 11 as well.

My inelegant solution: after re-starting Windows, open AS (Moho) and leave the program on.

This works pretty well, but make sure you save in case of an automatic update.

Thanks Matt. This is helpful because one of the error messages had something to do with this com surrogate thingy, which I'd never heard of.

So far, changing drive permissions has helped but will add your fix too.
