Re: Vitruvian Bones messes up masking + textures on 2nd object

Smartbone Question: I don't fully understand how you're setting up the Smart Bone to keep them in sync? What exactly is the Smart Bone set up to do? Use the Smart Bone to operate both Switch Layers, even when only one is visible. This way, when you switch between the two switches, the drawings rema...

TIP: Use AI to better explain your questions & answers

Hey Gang! A helpful tip I’ve been using is asking AI ( ChatGPT ) to make my posts easier to understand , whether it's a question or a response. Why? Sometimes I make things too wordy or complicated without realizing it. AI helps by making my posts clearer. It’s like asking a co-worker, “Is this clea...

Re: Vitruvian Bones messes up masking + textures on 2nd object

Thank you for the added explanation, DR.
I "think" this all makes sense. But I am going to put your suggestions into action next and see if I truly understood what you said. I'll keep you posted :)
Thanks again

Re: Vitruvian Bones messes up masking + textures on 2nd object

SOLUTION:(After much digging!!!) How To Make the Missing Items Reappear. 1. Select Layer - the one that isn't working. It can be a Switch Layer or a Texture Layer, it doesn't matter. 2. Choose: Bone > Flexi-Bind Layer FIXED!!! The missing layers will show up and be attached perfectly! Apparently, bi...

Re: Vitruvian Bones switch but the vector layers that are connected do not switch

Thank you too, @synthsin75 !!! That suggestion was a massive help for me too! I had a Switch Layer + a bitmap texture that was disappearing on the 2nd Arm Rig so I followed your suggestion and it immediately showed up! THANK YOU!!! STEP 1: Select the item (Switch Layer, Bitmap, etc) STEP 2: Select B...

Re: Vitruvian Bones messes up masking + textures on 2nd object

Thanks for your help, DR! To answer your questions: Are there one or two switch layers? Two Switch Layers. Every arm rig has it's own Switch Layer that was a duplicate of the original Hand Switch Layer. It was attached via Bind Layer. make a Duplicate of the Switch layer and use a Smart Bone Action ...

Re: Vitruvian Bones messes up masking + textures on 2nd object

**UPDATE** – The problem is still happening. However, after watching a @McCoy Buck video about Vitruvian bones, I learned that there are issues with how points are attached to the bone. Here’s what I found: 1. **Bind Points** doesn’t work with Vitruvian bones (which is what I used). Instead, **Flex...

Vitruvian Bones messes up masking + textures on 2nd object

Hey Gang! I'm having a problem with two rigged Vitruvian ( 2 x left arms) in my project . NOTES: They both use: A masked texture. A switch layer for the hands. When I turn these two arms into Vitruvian arms, the second arm breaks. Specifically, it loses: The hand switch layer. The textures go missin...

Re: Moho Pro 15 Wishes and Predictions

Start adding the most popular scripts! It’s the quickest way to get the best results with minimal effort. Then, keep them updated and provide tutorials. Not only would it likely be the fastest and cheapest way to upgrade- it'd also have the most impact too! Scripts like the MR Pose Tool and MT Tran...

Re: newbie q about masked layers and bones

You don't have to have all the body parts on separate layers but it certainly has its advantages to do it that way. If you have every major body part on its own layer or group and its clearly labelled so its easy to understand and edit, it'll be much easier to use and troubleshoot- if needed. I don'...

Re: newbie q about masked layers and bones

Hi Eric, welcome to Moho! Yes, you'll need to 'Bind Layer" to the bone for the texture layer to follow the bone. How to Bind Layer 1. Select Texture Layer on the Layer Panel or Alt > R-click on the texture 2. Choose the "Bind Layer" tool 3. Select the Bone you want to bind to. That's ...

Re: Best Practices for Character Animation Workflow

This is 'mad genius' level stuff, isn't it? I am not the guy to ask as I am a newbie to it but it certainly seems to be on the 'mad genius' tier based on what I have seen so far, DR. Based on that one video alone, one can see how powerful those tools are. And that demo only features a fraction of w...

Re: Best Practices for Character Animation Workflow

Hey DR! Note: When making a mirrored limb, I often find it easier to make a duplicate project, and then flip the parts and rename the Smart Bones Actions there. When I'm done, I'll copy/paste, and reparent the bones in the original project . This prevents any conflicts from occuring. I found the MR ...

Re: Best Practices for Character Animation Workflow

This might be a dumb question but...
Can I fully rig a Vitruvian/Pin Bone Arm (Right Arm) then simply duplicate it for the opposite arm (Left Arm)?
In other words, can the rigging and smart actions be duplicated? Or is it just the geometry-only that can be duplicated?
