Anime Studio Pro???

Hello.
First, I apologise if this is in the wrong bit.
I use Moho 12 but would like to fire up my copy of Anime Studio Pro 11.
But I can't.
It says I'm running in demo mode and, when I "Insert Serial Number", it says I have exceeded the number of activations... which I haven't as it's only on one PC.
Unfortunately, I can't seem to get through to Smith Micro whose support email address appears to have been deleted.
Could anyone, please, advise me?
Thank you.

You are not alone. see also:

Moho 12 and under are discontinued, and the license service no longer works.
If you head over to:
https://my.smithmicro.com, you will be able to
download and
install the final available version of your Anime Studio / Moho - which will allow you to continue its use.

SimplSam... thank you very much.
May I ask?... should I uninstall my version of ASP 11, first, before installing the Final Version, please?
And, since my Moho 12 is working perfectly, would it be better (i.e. safer) to leave it? As support has ended, I'm a bit nervous. And I can't upgrade to 13 as I'm using W7.
Please forgive my ignorance.

even if you don't have immediate plans to install them, I strongly advise you to get all the "final versions" for which you have a valid licence key from the SM site before it goes away.

IMO, it's a good idea to remove it first and then re-install with the new version, especially if it's been years since you installed and last used it. This removes the chance of working with corrupted program files.
If you're running the
original release of Moho 12, I'm surprised to hear it's still working for you. Or are you using the
final version? If not, you can expect your version of 12 to expire any day now because the Smith Micro license server is no longer active. If you haven't updated 12 to the final version yet, I highly recommend doing so. As with ASP 11 above, you should probably do a clean install just for the peace of mind.
Also, if you're really using 12.0 and not 12.5 (the final version), the upgrade is definitely worth it. 12.5 is much more stable and has a number of improvements over 12.0.
I agree with Hayasidist, if you haven't grabbed all of the final installers for Moho 12.5 and earlier from Smith Micro's website, better do so now and store the files in a safe place. They're not going to be available forever because Smith Micro no longer owns Moho.
From here on out, Moho 13.5 and above will be available only from Lost Marble of course.

Dear
hayasidist and
Greenlaw,
Thank you very much for your advice. Greatly appreciated.
I have done as you suggest... downloaded (and backed-up) the final versions.
Actually, it appears that I have already upgraded 12 to 12.5, so that's fine... plus the safety-net of having downloaded 12.5... just in case.
Once more, many thanks!

I had that problem a while ago. I suspect it was a result of using a VPN, but not totally sure. For some reason, when I tried to reinstall from the same installation file I had saved, it wouldn't work and I'd get the error you speak of. I had to go to the website and download a fresh copy of anime pro 11

Smith Micro shut down their activation servers, which is why they offered the final build installers (that don't check in with a server).
