I used a switch layer with various eye expressions including a closed (blink)
As an experiment, I selected the same sound file for the mouth switch layer. this produced a pretty interesting eye animation. I had to fine tune it by removing unnecessary frames. This might be a good way to to speed up animating eye blinks and give emotion. A simplified beat as the source file might give blinks in a useful way without having to resort to adding actions or deciding each frame. I would love to hear feedback.

If your blink consists of more than one frame, it might be useful to convert the sequence of switches into an action which can easily be applied anywhere.
