This is the same or similar technology that is used in the latest version of Adobe After Effects for the "puppet" feature.
I'll get excited when it can export vector. Currently it is a raster format due to how the shapes are broken down into "polygons" for distortion.
It is cool though... no argument there... cool as heck.

This soft has been mentioned before - and it's been in development for quite a while.
There is a public beta coming soon and will be available here for windows and mac (look for the big white down arrow surrounded in blue)

Actually this character
http://urumadelvi.jp/gallery/kajiri.html is quite well know on NHK (the national broadcaster) and will also appear on the famous yearly (new years eve) music battle program "Kouhaku uta gassen" this year.
