new video
i'm playing with complex painting using AS. it's not perfect, but is my first try to make nice shadings with vectors.
here is the
anme file and here a
singing video
thanks for feedback.
ps: know somebody how could be avoided that the shapes with soft edge effect escapes to the figure limit (without using masks)?

Nice work selgin but you have to mask. Any reason why you don't want to?

the reason is that if i mask, i will have to move the character points and the masks points separately. if i would want to insert a new action, would be a double work.
that's why i decided to insert all the shapes in just one layer.
i still creating new actions for the eyes and all the face.
i want to make a blink, but it is complicated and i'm too sluggish.

If you do all the animation for the coloured shape first, you can make a duplicate layer and use that as a mask - although getting rid of the blurring on the mask layer could be fiddly

yes, but i want to create a reusable character which don't need many tricks. it's probable that i have to use mask finally, but if i could avoid this, would be great.
there is an option. do you know if is there a script for control points from one layer to other?
uhm, i'll search.

Thanks for share selgin. You're so generous. Very cool the shading although I would like the hair a little more elaborated accordingly to the rest of the face.
Regarding to cut the soft edge effect to not get out of the edge of the underlying shape I have tried apply a shadow to the layer with the same color of the background but it doesn't work.
And an script that moves points in one layer based in points in other layer could be possible only if both layers have same amount of points that finally lies to duplicate the layer.
Masking is the best option. Just forget the soft edge escaping from the contour during preparation of the actions. Once you're happy with the actions then duplicate the layer and the actions would be duplicated also. If you need to insert a new action just delete the duplicated one and duplicate once you have created the action. That's the goodness of the actions!!!

you are welcome. i repeat, i have learned so much in this forum (and so much from you), that upload my files is the minimum i can do.
i want to improve the air. i'll do it when i finish the face movements (i just finished a respectable blink!).

could be an script which works when you duplicate a layer. it would be really great. i don't know anything about scripting. what do you think?, would be much hard to write such script?[/quote]

yes, that's what i'll do. anyway, this character is not for a project. it's just an exercise.
here is the current version of the anme file

Check out this moho file. I didn't have to double my work.

that's because you move bones, not points. bones will move all which be inside them. in this case, mask and shapes will move at the same time.

Yes, but I didn't use a seperate vector for a mask. It's own shape is also the mask.

oh, i see. it's very clever
works fine when the soft edged shape is absolutely inside the shape limits.
but when the soft edge exceeds the limit, you get a little dawn.
seems to be that in this case, masking is the only solution.
