I had moho. Then I got windows Anime Studio from Conentparadise with my serial. But now I have a mac. Contentparadise won't let me download another one with the same code, but for the macintosh. So I downloaded the trial for macintosh, and it still won't accept my code.
How can I get this to work?

Sad to say you will have to buy a new version for the mac.

I find this type of situation to be frustrating and unneccessary. I wish that software developers would see the logic behind allowing "dual" licensing for those of us in these situations. It doesn't make sense to buy something you already own twice. I had to do this years ago with Macromedia Director... $1200... times 2. Two sets of manuals... two sets of disks. Just silly.

At a minimum some sort of "sidegrade" would be nice. Like a discounted upgrade.

You may be in luck down the road if there is a "cheap" upgrade to a new version... it could be you could get buy the cheaper mac version update that way but it is a shot in the dark. I did this when we recieved the Moho/ASP free update. I chose the PC version and then got a mac version later.

I would suggest contacting efrontier about this... but I wouldn't get your hopes up but at least they will get feed back. I've tried for years with many companies to offer some sort of package discount for multiple platforms without success. They just don't understand the logic.

The best solution I've ever seen is from Hash Inc. for Animation Master. They put both platform versions on one disk with one SN. The disk is the copy protection but you can run it on any machine.

Yeah, Animation Master does things right. One thing I like about it is the constant work they do to update it. I'd be nice if there were a team working on AS, constantly updating it - I'd be more than happy to pay a yearly subscription for that if it were done right.

And heyvern "screamed" it out that there's no way to activate a mac version with a windows serial.

The cheapest would for me to buy a download mac version, it's "only" around 147 Euro.

The boxed version will not be deliverd to Germany from e-frontier.
Well, I could buy it from a german reseller, still 199.- Euro, weird!
I think this boxed version is for both Windows and Mac.

Why?
Other software distributors does the same, Adobe for example, QuarXpress, MS Office.

Well, yes, it's "unfair" not to tell us that the download version needs different numbers for Windows and Mac.

For example DAZ's Bryce 6 works for Mac and Windows with the same serial, download version.

It's the good right for e-frontier to make money.
And AS is still one of cheapest solutions for 2D Animation.
Think about Adobe Flash, a new version, no update, the horror!

But you can sell your Windows version, and a bit money would come back.

My Animation Master don't want to run on my G4-Mac, I can install it, but it doesn't run, so I couldn't even give my serial in it, - "Sorcerez" version.

Sadly, does only work on an Intel Mac.

This is exactly why it makes no sense for efrontier NOT to offer a dual platform license.

With these other programs making it possible to use a windows app on mac or windows they are cutting off their nose to spite their face.

So if you spend $50 on a vm solution... why not offer that price for a "side grade"?

Have a smaller fee to purchase a dual license or side grade later on.

p.s. There is no guarantee that AS will run in Cross Over. It appears to be based on the "wine" project. I've not had much luck in the past with programs not on the list.

Well, technically, according to those lovely license agreements that we "accept" when we install software, we never really "own" ay of it.

Most of the software I use, Lightwave, modo, Vue 5 etc. have all been one purchase for both Mac and PC. Vue 6 changed to single platform though. But it seems so easier on the customer.
