Water ripple

Hey there! I want to know if there if there is a quick technique/way to make an effect of a water rippling or moving? thanks!

Of course. Create some blobby water reflex shapes and animate them via point motion. Put several layers of them on top of each other.

the first one is good! But i want to make an image ripple like water. Can you explain how i can do that?

Just about any popular video editing software these days include image filters that can make an image ripple effect. This is something that AS does not have. You could use bones to warp your image or create this effect in an external app and import an avi or mov into AS.

I actually attacked this puzzle a while ago (forgive me but I'm away from my home PC so I don't have examples). I'll try and break it down into a couple of steps.

1) Import your image into Anime Studio.
2) Duplicate the image layer, and resize the layer on top to 90% of the origional size.
3) Create a circle shape on a vector layer (or multiple circle shapes). This is going to be what defines the shape of the ripple.
4) After the ripple starts, increase the size of your circles so that they are slowly expanding.
5) Also at the end of the ripple, scale up the duplicate image layer from 90% to 100% so that it will slowly go from being offset to resolving with no distortion. (Or you could do the reverse, going from 100% - 110% - 100% so that the distortion is bigger in mid ripple. Play around with what you like.)
6) Create either a group or bone layer (depending on which version of AS you have). Make a mask that hides everything, and then use your layer with the circle to define the mask shape. Put your image layer in this mask layer on top. You should now see the slowly scaling up image in the expanding circle shape.
7) Play with the transparency of the group/bone layer. I usually make it fairly opaque at the start of the ripple, and slowly fade it out to transparent.

This tutorial shows how to make a similar effect in plane ole flash. It won't be terribly useful if you are working soley in AS, but will give you an idea of the final result.
