i have just purchased as 5 pro and need a little help.
i imported an obj and put bones into it, but when i use the manipulate bone tool the whole obj file starts moving instead of just the part the bone is in ( bone in arm=whole body moves and waves around)
any sugestions on how to fix this?

Put the arms and legs in seperate bone layers and bind the bone layers with a master bone layer.
Now you can manipulate the limbs independently from eachother. However, the manipulation takes more steps than with a single bone layer setup. Another solution is to use the

Rotate bone tool instead of the

Manipulation bones tool. With the Rotate bone tool you can manipulate each bone separately. Which solution to choose depends how complex your setup is. With a rather complex setup in which many bones are overlapping eachother, I would use bone layers inside a master bone layer.
However, with more control the situation gets less intuitive. It all depends on how important control over the exact movements is in your situation.

same answer (for same question) in "obj & bones", tips & techniques:
work with objs and bones is a issue in moho. animestudio. whatever.
you must separate your 3d object by parts. leg, leg2, arm, arm2, head, head2 (optional), etc. then, import this parts as several objs.
you must make a bone layer for each part, all inside other bone layer.
to move the objects, you can use the bones, but the bones movement is just 2d, so you can rotate in 3d each entire bone layer with the layer tools.

here is an example to download. 1mb.
in rar:

in zip (you must "save as" and rename the file as .zip):

(there is a lot of files, just open the .moho. and remember to unzip all before open)
