Wondering if there is a way to add a curve profile to just one section of points on a closed shape?

I have drawn a rough outline for the hair, front view, on my character. I just want to add the curve profile to the upper points of the hair and not the hairline to sort of indicate curls and a messy kind of hair texture.

When I select just the points I want to add the curve profile to, the curve profile becomes greyed out, it only seems to be available when all points on the shape are selected.

Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Unfortunately, Curve Profile is meant to work along the entire path. There are two things you can try instead...

1. Separate the curve segment you want to apply the curve profile to.

or

2. Use Liquid Shapes to visually mimic what you wish to do using Curve Profile. For example...
