Moho to Blender

Post by starstriker32 »

I had a quick look to see if anyone has asked this before on here and couldn't see anything.

I was just wondering if anyone had an idea on the best way to bring a Moho Animated video into Blender?

I painted, rigged and animated a car similar to the one that came out a few months ago with the racoon thieves and I want to save the animation as a video file and then import it into Blender where I will just have a simple tracking shot of the car driving down the street from right to left.

I did save the file as a MOV (PNG alpha-PCM) file because I want a transparent background but when I import that into Blender it has a white outline around the car. Was wondering if anyone has a bit of experience with the workflow between Moho and Blender as I am pretty new and inexperienced with both.

Thanks.

A safer bet would be to export from Moho as a PNG sequence, then ...

In Blender 4.2+ import the images into Blender as Mesh Planes, and select the import options for: [X] Detect Image Sequences, and Shader: [Shadeless] or [Emission]

If the image just shows as a grey block, you will need to change Viewport Shading to Material Preview or Render Preview mode.

In earlier Blender versions, import the images into Blender as Image Planes, and select the import options for: [X] Animate Image Sequences, and Material Type: [Shadeless] or [Emission]

Thanks a lot, this was very helpful.

For some reason after checking the "detect image sequence" box the image plane was imported into Blender but after pushing play the plane would only show the first frame of the image sequence. I looked it up and to fix it, I had to go into the shader editor, click on the image node and click "n" to bring up the image properties and then in the source dropdown click "image sequence and change the frame count to the duration of the animation in my timeline and set start to 1 and keep Offset on Zero. Just in case anyone else wants to try it but is having the same problem. I don't understand why it isn't more straight forward but it seemed to fix the issue.

I need to do a bit of tweaking but so for I'm pretty happy with it. I'm terrible with Blender but this lets me dip my feet in the water. It's nice combining Moho's 2.5 Features with some very basic 3D scenes in Blender.

Thanks again.
