Hey! This is a little test animation I am working on, using someone else's artwork.
I am planning on doing some FBF rain and ripples, and I'm building a head turn and expressions, etc. But do you all have any feedback? It would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Jim

Very good so far. Subtle but expressive acting.

The Artwork/ Design looks great!
But i would avoid that typical "Moho Look" (the tendency of "over wiggling" stiff shapes, like a jumping jack)
in this case her hair for example or the eyegloss
I wonder, why you never see this behaviour in a Toon Boom Harmony reel. The tools of both apps a basically the same.

That looks great! Love the designs and subtle motions. Thanks for sharing it, Jay!

Thanks Synthasin and Greenlaw! I appreciate it!
Also, thanks Roberto for the critique. Yeah, I probably should work on toning down the wiggling. I'll keep working on it.
Thanks!
Jim

I like the wiggling. Gives it life.

I agree. To me, the motion looks natural and appropriate for the character.
I think I understand the type of 'wiggle' roberto13 refers to, but that's not a 'Moho Look' thing. To me, 'wiggly' motion is characteristic of someone new to keyframing animation, and it's typical in rigged 2D and 3D animations from any package created by beginning animators.
However, I do not see that in jayfaker's animation. To me, this looks really good.

Ah, interesting. I have been taking some character animation classes, finally, and it seems I do have a tendency to overdo certain things, like overshoot, etc. So I figured it was that. But I'll keep all this in mind. Thanks!

I'm an amateur animator. To the average person and someone like me it looks great! I love the wiggle. This is art. In art you take artistic chances. It's your style. Wiggle or not wiggle away. It's your choice. When it becomes too specific or too scientific or by the book then it's boring. Keep doing your thing man. It's dope!
