How To Show Motion Path for Layer in Moho 14

Hi guys.

On 14, I can't see the motion path for any layers. I like to use it to adjust the animation timing for certain things. Is it gone from 14, or is there a way to toggle it on and off?

Thanks!

Transform layer and transform bone tools have a "show path" option for motion paths.

That's right! Thank you, Wes.

Note to anyone else, 'Show Curves' in the lower right-hand corner needs to be unchecked in order to see individual points/keyframes for editing. On 13.5 I see them whether this is checked or not. Maybe some other values in 14 affect this.

That's odd. It work with show curves enabled here. Windows, v14.1

Yeah, I'm on Windows 11, a new PC build, 14 has been a nightmare for me.

One of the cool things currently taking place is that I can't open any files created in 14, unless I go through Menu>Open. No matter what I do, if I double-click a 14 file it opens in 13.5. I could uninstall 13, but I have too many issues currently with 14.

You should be able to right-click the .moho doc, select "Open With" and then "Choose Another App", find Moho 14 and then select "Always" to have that association.

Yeah, that was the first thing I tried. No go. Always opens with 13

Just a thought: Try setting Moho 13 as the default app, even if it's already set that way. Then restart the computer. When it comes back online, repeat the action but now select Moho 14. I'm wondering if the feature just needs to be 'reset' before it will pick something different.

If that doesn't work, try it from the settings window. Go to the Windows Search bar and enter Default Apps. Then, in the window that opens, enter .moho in its search bar. Click on Moho and scroll to the bottom of the list where it says Choose An App On Your PC, and click it. Navigate to the Moho Pro 14.1 program folder and select the Moho.exe for Moho 14.1. I don't know if the result will be any different doing it this way, but I think it's worth a shot because this window is set up a little differently than the first one.

If none of this works, you may need to edit the registry. I don't have this info, but maybe someone else here can share the details.

The 2 main Registry Keys to check via: regedit

Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Moho.Document\shell\open\command
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Applications\Moho.exe\shell\open\command

Also .. back to the original query: "Show Motion Path for Layer in Moho 14"

There is a bug introduced with Moho 14 - where the dots don't always show in the path - depending on how many points you have on your vector layer, and as you say: show/hide curves can affect this. ref J157
