Pin bones??

Hello Guys,
Umm, this could sound weird but I don't know why, (is it because I installed any script or something) or I had updated the moho accidently, idk, but pin bones are not appearing, they are not being made even when I click one time, ahhh, what am I saying, they are just not getting created. Anyone know anything about this?

They are pretty tiny nowadays. Depending on the background, they may be hard to notice.

Pin Bone size is dependent on two things:

1. In Moho 13.5.5, the size depends on the Width size you set in Preferences.

2. The display size of bones remains constant as you zoom out so they may appear 'smaller'. Likewise, zooming in will make the bones appear 'bigger' (relatively speaking), but the bone size doesn't actually change. This is true for regular bones or pin bones.

For example, here's what a Medium Width Pin Bone looks like on my screen in a 720 x 1280 project and normal zoom...

And zoomed In...

Zoomed Out...

Now, if the Pin bone isn't appearing at all, I'm not sure what's going on there. From what I've read elsewhere, Moho may have an issue with odd Windows Scaling sizes--some users reported that this can offset bones visually from where they actually are---so you might want to check that. Set the the Windows Scaling to 100% and see if that fixes it.

Good luck!

I remember I have read about this problem in the past and here it is: https://www.lostmarble.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=29992

The user was using mac. Is that your case?

There is no info about the cause, but this was the best solution:

If your Mac just won't let you create a bone by clicking and not moving the mouse (for whatever reason), just create a regular bone and set its length to zero with the transform bone tool on frame zero.

This is what I do if I want a parented chain of pin bones.

@striker2311, which version of Moho are you using?

Were Pin bones working properly recently for you? Just wondering since that thread is from 2016.

Similar was also reported by jayfaker in 2022: Are Pin Bones Dead?, and a couple more users (SuperSGL, Moe33, Gaucho) said they had had issues in that conversation.

Most stated that they resolved their issue by removing a conflicting script - from custom scripts or the program scripts location.

I have this problem too BUT you can still make a pin bone :D
Create a bone...select transform bone tool...then in the length panel at the top right hands side of the menu set length to 0.

Cheers

So the easiest thing to do is remove them all. Go to the scripts folder: File > Open Custom Content Folder, then make a new subfolder called 'off' (or anything) - then move all the scripts into the new folder, and restart/reload Moho.

Now try Pin's again.. If they are working you can reintroduce scripts one-by-one until it breaks again.

Hi striker2311,

Yay! Glad you tracked it down.

So which DKW Root script was it? I use some of his scripts and want to see if I have it installed here.

Thanks.
