Creating a Clipping mask in Moho

I recently saw a video on youtube about creating a spinning globe effect in moho. In the video the instructor showed how you could change the color
of the world map by getting a png file of it from the internet and creating a clipping mask to change the color of the countries on the world map.
So you have the image layer (world map) and the color vector you choose on another. Then you create a group layer to put the 2 into. Once that's
done you double click on the group layer, select masking, and then hide all, and click apply. What this is supposed to do is change the color of
the countries on the map to the color you chose and hide the areas around it. However this did not work for me. I'm wondering if there is a setting
on the masking I don't have on? If someone could explain to me the difference between a clippling mask and a regular mask that might be
helpful. Thanks,
