Cause and remedy when won't play back

Every day or two when I try to play back my project, it will not play, and instead the Play button turns to a Stop button. Simply closing and re-opening Moho does not fix this. I have to reboot. Moho isn't frozen - it still lets me edit and save and all, just can't play. What might be the cause of this, and is there another remedy besides rebooting?

I just ran into a similar problem with Moho Pro 14.3

none of my projects play anymore. I hit the play button and it just doesn't do anything.
Also, when i scrub there's no audio.

This is a file that was working fine yesterday. I tried some older files and they won't play either.

UPDATE:

Looks like none of my audio is working even in the Music program. Not sure why that would effect Moho, but I'll have to fix this first to find out.

Apparently, if there's an audio problem with the Mac it'll keep Moho from playing anything.
I restarted and luckily it's now working.

I've run into moments when Moho stops playing. Same as you, I can save, etc., just not play. This seems to happen when I have a bunch of other programs running in the background simultaneously, like video editing, compositing, audio recording, browsers, Discord, etc., so I'm not too surprised when something weird happens in any of these programs. My solution is to avoid doing too much at once, which seems to help...I haven't seen this happen for quite some time now.

When this happens, I think I'll be able to quit and relaunch Moho. I don't think I've had to restart the computer completely, but I tend to do that anyway to reduce the chances of it happening again or seeing a problem in another program.

Anyway, I don't think this was a problem for me before Moho 14.x, so maybe it's a new thing? Fortunately, it hasn't been a serious recurring problem...well, for me, anyway.

Post any new info about what causes the problem. I'll do the same if I learn anything new.

I'm on Windows, by the way. And, yes, I think it might be audio-related.
