Particle Lampposts along the road. Not working.

I'm trying to use particles to create lampposts along the side of a road. Everything is going great, except for that the lampposts aren't "evenly spaced" even tho I have checked it.
So I have a whole lot of lampposts but some clustered too closely.
Here are my particle settings. I have messed with them, but no luck:
Any ideas?

I know this is not that you want to listen, but... Have you thought to do it NOT using Particle Layers? Less cool, I know... but I think Particle Layers are not prepared (yet...) to work fine in this kind of situations... So belive me, you only will find all kind of troubles, since this one to others like (and specially) talking about depth... Anyway is very funny experiment with Particles so you are free to go on in that way to see what you can get

...CIAO!

I had done it manually at first, but it is not as flexible. It's a pain to set up multiple layers, and then decide to redo something. What if I wanted to change my lamp post image? Is there any other way then by changing source for each layer?
I decided to try it with particles, and spacing is the only problem. It's so much nicer to have to change some number setting and seeing everything done.
I would LOVE to get this spacing problem fixed. What does the "evenly spaced" function do anyway?

The Manual says: Evenly spaced - if checked, then the particles will be released in even time increments.
And yes, I understand you perfectly about all that
supposed benefits of use Particles instead of "more tradicional methods" cause I was treating to work in that way too...

...Are you totally sure? Have you tried to rotate your point of view to see how your streetlamps interact in depth and are superposed ones with others? Let me know...
PD: Hummm... I wonder if don't could be that something strange (or bug) occurs with particles and depth after I press Randomize button

I'm obtaining strange results and seems like if pepth particles situation were like "corrupted" in some situatiopns after pressing that "fuuny" Button or something... hmmm, I'll go on investigating...

Try spread = 0 and use the source width and/or depth (or resize) to spread them out-sorry not home so can't try it myself. :/
Forget, tried it when I got home and that doesn't do it.

Yes, everything is fine but the spacing...
@bupaje - Tried all that too.... doesn't help

Evenly spaced - if checked, then the particles will be released in even time increments.
This sets even spacing
in time, not in location, i.e. a burst of particles released every release "beat", or even a single particle released every "beat".
Release a set of particles, pause, release another set of particles, pause, release another set of particles.
Good for things like the arrows of the diagram particle example on
the Moho features page, but not for spacing lampposts - you'd need to do that manually or write a script.
Regards, Myles.

Sorry, didn't find that in the manual.
or write a script.
Oh dear.

Guess it's the manual way (unless someone wants to write a script :hint: :hint:).
Thanks all.

This is why Moho would benefit SO much from flash-style instances... see my post in feature requests for the debate.

Doesn't MOHO have something close to flash instances?
