Very nice.
Was that a single image, or was it created in layers, with smart mesh in mind?

Really cool chucky! Though such a pity we can't rotate these meshed characters more than 20-30 degrees. The forum is full of rigs that always end up having have that "I can't go past this angle" look.
I still love this one though chuck! Nice artwork and mood setting.

Cheers guys,
Yes it was an experiment with an image painted in layers specifically for smart mesh.
I've realised a few things about this technique.
I know how to plan for it better know
( think start with vector shapes first to be sure of how many layers to make - as there is a problem with updating PSDs -psd files have a weird id system)
Then take a screener of the layers setup and paint to that existing guide.
New angles mean new rigs ( or slightly adjusted ones)
It would be interesting to try this again, with layers for light sources.
I think I could get away with this if I were to consider a larger piece with this method...
Individual paintngs for each scene/ extreme poses /.
Multiple versions of layers for changing aspect to light.
It would be a different kind of process, still contemplating how to reduce the monumentality of it.
Is it worth it?
I have a script that might doable, perhaps.
