I've just started to use the text feature, but nothing is showing in the Frame window, checked the manual, for some reason can't access the Create one shape and Create text layer option box's, it may be cause of no text visibility in frame window, my options are greyed out.

Seems you don't use the layers palette layer named text, instead you create a new vector layer and then use the text tool on that layer, which then gives you access to the fonts etc, which begs the question, what do you use the layer palette text layer for.

The options are different depending on where you've called that text window from.
Text in text layers can be edited, and can only have one text object per layer.
Text in vector layers are a shape (points) only, but can have multiple text objects per layer.
Using the text tool (to insert text) in a text layer will create a new text layer.
When using the text tool in a vector layer, it will either create a new text layer, or insert the text as one or multiple shapes.
