Hello,
I'm new to Moho and slowly learning the program.

I was trying to animate a character using the Character Wizard simply walking across the screen. I followed the instructions in the manual as closely as possible and when I'm in the studio workspace and hit play, I can see the character, bones and all, walking as he should across the screen. When I hit Preview Animation, I can also see him walking across the screen. When the character is on the screen, he is in a walking cycle and appears to go across the screen from left to right.

However, when I go to render the animation, it just shows him going from left to right across the screen, but he is not walking. His figure just goes across the screen with no body movement.

I don't understand why I can see him walking across the screen in the workspace view and in preview mode, but it doesn't render out with any body movement.

Any info appreciated.

Sounds like you're playing the timeline and Preview Animation (which just renders what the workspace sees) from an active action. Make sure you're on the mainline for what renders.

Is there a step I'm missing somewhere?

Yes, see how the timeline background is red? That means you're in an action. In the action window, you need to double click the Mainline (top entry) and then add that action to the mainline.

I see what I was missing now.

Didn't realize that I needed to move to frame 1, Insert Reference, and all that.

Now I get it.
