Just save rig

I have created a rigged character and used it in an animation, with lots of keyframes in it. Now I realize I might want to re-use this character in other projects. I first removed everything from the project except my character's group layer, but realized that when I saved it, all the animation keyframes are still in there. The only way I can think to remove the animation is to go into every layer in the group one by one and delete the keyframes. Is there a simpler way to export just the rig but not any of the animation for this particular movie?

Under Animation, select Clear Animation From Document. This will wipe out every key in every layer but preserve your setup at frame 0.

If you're using frame 1 as an extended setup frame, then you want to go to frame 1 and choose Clear Animation From Document After Current Frame. This will clear all keys but preserve the starting pose you might have set up at frame 1. (Useful if you normally want to start with a pose that's different from what you have in frame 0.)

BTW, you won't lose animations that exist in any Actions.

After you have your 'clean' character setup, you can save it as a Template or add it to the Library to reuse. Or, you can save it as a regular scene file and import just the character into new scenes.
