help with saving to "my characters"

Post by stevesbro13 »

I've rigged a character that I would like to continue to use but when I open the library tab there are not buttons visible for me to click. Is there anyway I can save this rigged character and be able to import them into other scenes with the rigging still there?

Here's what I would do (I'm using version 9.5, but I don't think this has changed at all). Not saying it's optimised or anything, this is just the way I'd do it...
1. Save an experimental version of your anime character file. I always start these with an x, like xCharacterFile1.anme
2. Strip out anything in your file (backgrounds, other characters, props etc.) that aren't connected to your character.
3. (It makes things tidier if everything is in a Bone Layer or Group Layer, with your character's name in the layer name somewhere).
4. Open up a new AS file.
5. Go to File | Import | Anime Studio Object
6. Click on xCharacterFile1.anme
7. Select what you want to import

Voila! You have now imported your rigged character!
You can't have everything. Where would you put it?

You can always save your characters to the library
Don't forget! No one is perfect!
