Can reference layers be used to create symmetrical drawings?

Hi
Is it possible to use reference layers in Anime studio 11 to create symmetrical images?
For example would I be able to create a layer to hold the right side of my drawing then duplicate it as a reference layer, flip the reference layer horizontally and then use it for the left side of my drawing?
I tried downloading a trial of Anime studio 11 to check for myself but I went through the whole process without realizing the trial was only for Anime studio 10!
