When I go to the transform point tool, i see the bones. when i hide the bones, using the checkbox above the timeline , i can't see the points. am i doing something wrong? this is uber annoying and makes drawing more difficult. I want to draw without seeing the bones, but i want to see the points..

I can select the bone using the bone select tool and hide it manually. then see the points as I am drawing. Is there an easier way to do this that's not such a pain in the rear?

I'm not sure about your problem, but try unchecking "Auto hide curves" in the View menu.

that doesn't help victor. I don't know if it matters, but this is a file I had worked on in ASP10 and converted to ASP11. Seems to be happening in all the files I converted.

It's hard to me to understand your problem.
Try this:
In the Layers window, select the bone layer and click the little triangle at its right. Now uncheck "Paths".
That will make that the bone layer "paths" (which are its bones) won't be visible when that layer is not selected. That way you can draw on the vector layer inside the bone layer, without seeing the bones.

That did it Victor. Thanks!

Thanks medic and Victor. I ran into this same issue, in a different way. I was doing Frame by Frame. I didn't want to see all the points, because I was thinking more like bitmap art to get in the flow of sketching out a plan of animation. So I switched off the paths. However, when I switched to the bone layer to actually animate according to the plan, the bones were gone? What?

I had no idea that bones were considered paths. This thread helped me figure it out. Cool :) Thanks :)

bone and vector point visibility is tool dependant now - you should see points with point editing tools but they will be hidden with bone editing tools...

It is true that points are hidden if you have the bone layer selected, but I think the situation medic5678 is talking about is trying to edit/transform points in a vector layer that's a child of a bone layer. Image

If you edit points on the vector layer you'll see the bones. Also, if you select bone tools on that layer you'll see points. (I think that makes sense for binding purposes.)

Anyway, that's why the path on/off info is helpful.
