When a new AS comes out, does the previous one stop being manufactured? For example, now that 10 is out, is 9.5 made anymore?

What I'm asking is, once a new version comes out, are old ones not made, as in, they are still available new on Amazon, but is the older version is "frozen" in that new discs for that program are not physically manufactured by Smith Micro? As is, now that v.10 is out, are v.9.5 and v.9 discs not created new anymore, even though you can still buy them new? I hope this makes sense.

Every time a new version of a program is released the manufacturer doesn't sell any older version any more. Any download links to an older version will be disabled. CDs/DVDs with older versions might be sold on ebay or elsewhere, and re-sellers might sell older versions via download for some time as well.
