Hey guys,

I didn't know exactly where to put this information so I placed on here and on the "other software" forum.

Anyway, We are having our 1st annual Animation Jam event to be held March 20-22, 2015 at The Art Garage in Montclair, NJ (my job). I wanted to let my fellow anime studio users know that this is happening this month.

The purpose of this event is to bring animation creators together to create an animated short within 48 hours. You have the option to work as individuals or as a group. A theme will be presented on the first day of the event. The goal is to provide an
environment where animation creators (professional, student, and hobbyist) can network, collaborate, learn, and create a real world project under a deadline.

Toon Boom Animation Inc., Kdan Mobile Software LTD., DigiCel Inc., and Artograph Inc. is sponsoring the event. Each company will have product giveaways to selected participants who sign up. I couldn't get in contact with anybody at Smith Micro lol.

Those interested in participating in the Animation Jam can do so in person or online (we are live streaming the event). The deadline to sign up is March 19th, 2015.

Also, if you know of others who would be interested in this event we would appreciate it if you can pass the word.

Seems like it might be fun to participate but how do you collaborate with different platforms? How do AS animators fit in?

You can collaborate with others or go at it alone.... Your choice. Any type of animator can participate in this event regardless of hardware/software used. If you want to collaborate with others using different software you should gameplan a universal storyboard with said group of people to keep everybody on the same page. From there, you can composite everything together.
