Well, you need recorded dialogue in .wav format.
If you are creating it yourself, you can use a microphone. The inexpensive headset kind can produce reasonable quality. The lapel ones I've tried have been very poor quality for voice recording.
The professional option is a professional unidirectional voice or effects microphone and a pre-amp, with sound-adsorbent surroundings, preferably on the other side of a wall from the PC (which can generate hum, other noise such as hiss and crackle, and radio interference).
Another possibility I have used - recording onto one of those little hand-held mini-tape recorders, then transferring the recording onto the computer (through a thin cable with a 3.5mm plug/jack on either end).
Some people have used the built-in microphone on a video camera.
You could also investigate other alternatives (maybe recording to an MP3 player with a voice record feature, then transferring that recording to the PC via USB). I have heard that mini-disc recorders produce good quality with a reasonable microphone.
Regards, Myles.
