Hello, I have not posted here for a few years. Here is one of my animation tests with ASP. A cut out type of animation, all done in ASP except for the images of course.

Bizarre, twisted, your style reminds me a bit of some movies like BeetleJuice you've got sort of a Tim Burton twist on things with that supernatural suburbia thing, and the way you capture the look of old celluloid film reels definitely nails the whole thing together in a deliciously sinister way. For example the mother walking down the hallway part was really quite striking. Keep it up by all means, I want to see more!

How did you get the mom's face to do that?

I woke up at 3 in the morning. I'm like "hey! It's been awhile, let's go check out the animation forum!" And this is what I see...I don't think I'm going back to sleep, and if I do, I will certainly have nightmares.

The atmosphere, that intense David lynch thing you got going on, in conjunction to the movements of the characters and the sever and threatening way about their presence turns this into a perfect storm of harrowing surrealism. When the characters walk forward, I actually considered throwing my phone in panic. I really want to see where you're going with this. I checked out your youtube page and watched some of your other videos. Total Recession was pure nightmare fuel. I loved it. I'm subscribing to your page. I want more.

Fascinating. So many interesting styles at play here, very interested in your techniques. I probably won't have nightmares from this content, because I'm mostly dead inside already, but I might have day terrors trying to puzzle out your approach.

Just to clarify, I don't think that I actually "like" anything I've seen here. But impressed and intrigued, which probably matters more in the long run.

I did watch the first one and was creeped out almost instantly. I know that's what you're going for though, so good work!

Thank you for all of your encouraging comments. I get the feeling that you liked it...I think. I made these test scenes a couple of years ago, the usual distractions in life got in the way again and I lost track of it. Hentron,The mothers slight face turns were achieved by pre-editing the original head photo in Photoshop. It was arranged in several layers. From front to back eg. layer 1 Nose. layer 2 Cheeks, brow and chin. layer 3 eyes. Layer 4 neck and back of head. Ears(if seen) would be on two separate layers. Each layer must be touched up a little bit so that the areas of the face directly beneath them are tonally and texturally neutral, I probably used a cloning brush to achieve this. The layers were imported into ASP and manipulated with bones. Of course there are limitations to this technique, but I feel it achieved the slight amount of creepiness I wanted, without it being live action or full 3D.
