Ah, now I know exactly why I dislike most American comedy movies...and why Shawn of the Dead is one of my all-time favorites.

The visual storytelling is only one part of the blame there. The fact that none of them have a funny story or remotely interesting or likable character take up the lion's share of why those comedies are so awful.
