how to import illustator layers?

Hi,
I was wondering how I can import different layers from an illustrator file.
I know I have to export it like a illustrator version 8 file, with the extension *.ai.
But Moho still won't recognize the different layers I created in Illustrator.
The meaning is that I want to import these layers and that Moho also creates these different layers. Is there an easier way than save and export each different layer one by one in Illustrator, and import these one by one in Moho?
