Export Render not exporting correctly.

I have Anime Studio Pro 10 on a Mac 10.8.4

I just rendered out a full 1638 frame music video.
I chose Youtube HD 720p (HDV/HDTV) for dimensions and exported to MP4 H.264 AAC and I also clicked Apply shape effects and Apply layer effects.
Everything looked great on preview but when I rendered out some things exported incorrectly.

1) The music on the render is now crackling and popping.

2) Also I have one effect where I have a shape change from one color to another color to another color, but when it renders it only stays on one color. No changes are shown.

Any help is appreciated.
Thank you.

So when I watch my animation on the canvas the color of my text changes fill color to the beat of the music that I set perfectly.
But when I export out it stays only blue. (No color changes occur)
I just realized that when I also render the frame it is blue only.
So the changing of color is not reflected in the export or rendered frame.

How can I make the change of colors render out correctly?

Also what do you recommend for settings to export on a mac?
MP4 H.264 or
Quicktime H.264 AAC or
Quicktime H.264 PCM

I am not using any other programs after Anime Studio. I plan on exporting and uploading right to youtube.

I just did a test animation with a color change on a shape and it exported correctly. It would appear to be an issue with the file.

Are you using masking? Sometimes masking may cause something like this. For example "add to mask" or "clear and add" might work but would cover up a shape on the layer with the animated color change. This is a wild guess.

The best way to really track down the issue would be to look at the actual file if this is possible.

Vern thanks for helping me look outside the box. I figured out my first problem.
I checked everything and noticed I had colorize on that layer. crazy error. lol
That explains everything.
So now it renders correctly.

My second question is why is the audio crackling and popping on the export when it plays fine in the canvas workspace.
On the audio I switched off spatial positioning, and left the audio level at 1.
But it's still crackling and popping. I am using an mp3.

How can I make it play clear?

My suggestion would be to do it the way Studios go about it. Seperate the audio and video and composite them together with a video editor.

I have several myself but if your just starting out you will want to get one soon. The one I would recommend getting is Sony Movie Studio 13 Suite. There are 3 different versions of Movie Studio so be sure to get the Suite version as it includes all the tools. Amazon seems to have a pretty good price.

Not sure why it's crackling on export. Will have to test this on my own and see if I can replicate it. It could be an issue with the type of compression used for the mp3. If your mp3 in Anime Studio is really compressed, and then you export the movie with even MORE compression, it may downgrade the quality or cause the pops and clicks.

Also you may want to check the audio set up when exporting. When exporting to h.264 there are two audio options: AAC and PCM. AAC is the "apple" version and is "lossy". PCM is uncompressed.

I would also suggest using uncompressed WAV files. That is what I use for multi layer audio in Anime Studio and never have issues.

Using another application to do your audio/video mixing is a very good idea, but Anime Studio should work if the audio and export settings are correct.

Thanks for all the suggestions.
I always exported this way in Anime Studio Pro 9 with mp3 and it worked fine.
I am wondering with Anime Studio 10 and it's new export separate program is a little buggy with mp3's.
Sadly I don't have a wav file of the song.
I am looking at all my options.

You can import an MP3 into Audacity and export it as WAV, without change of quality.

I agree with Slowtiger that Audacity is a really good, dedicated solution. Plus it's open source and freaking off the hook powerful with tons of features. Before I got Adobe Audition I used Audacity for all of my audio editing. It is amazing for a free application. Powerful multitrack editing. I had projects with like 15 or 20 layers of audio all carefully mixed in Audacity. It can handle huge professional projects as well as any expensive commercial product.

When it comes to converting music to different formats I will often use iTunes because it's fast, free and brainless.

So I exported the video from Anime Pro 10 then into a video editor then I exported it with the audio and video and it worked without popping.

I understand the pro's always use 2 programs to make animations.
But sometimes when I am making a quick video it would be more easier and faster to just use Anime Studio for everything. I wished Anime Studio worked better with Audio.

BTW, What settings do you recommend exporting Anime studio video out with when you know your going to use a video editor afterwards to compress again.

Thanks again, Mike.

As long as I send files back and forth between programs I use PNG codec (with millions+ colours if transparency is needed).

Sorry if this is an amature mistake.
But I originally exported my Anime Studio project as an PNG which was 1638 png frames/files. lol
I then imported them in final cut video editor.
and Final cut played every Png for 1 sec.

I needed the clips to play at 24 fps not 1 frame per second. lol
I could not figure it out, so I had to compress a h.264 from Anime Pro into final cut. lol

How do you guys do it so it only plays the png at a 24 frames a sec in a video editor?

I use Adobe Premiere and After Effects so I don't know a lot about FCP. I think you have to change the preferences for the "freeze" length of imported images in FCP. Set it to 1 frame and then import a folder of images.

You mixed up PNG codec with PNG files. Don't worry, happend to others as well. What I meant was export as Quicktimewith the PNG codec.

But of course you can import a PNG sequence in Final Cut as well. Before importing, open the User Preferences, tab "Edit", and set the still image length to 00:00:00:01. This means each image will be shown for the length of 1 frame only.

Be sure to have all images selected before you drag them into the timeline.

Undiscovered, any chance you can log a bug in Mantis? I'd like to get my hands on the mp3 you are using.
