Making characters in AS vs. Photoshop

Hey there! So I was just wondering, would it be better to make characters in Photoshop and then import them into AS, or would it be better to make the characters directly in AS? I know that making them in Photoshop is quicker than in AS, at least from my experience, but I want to know if making all of my characters in AS would be more convenient for animation purposes. Let me know what you think, thanks!

If you're a beginner in AS, I recommend to learn to use its drawing tools and create vector characters first. You'll have more control over your animation this way.
Later, when you feel confident in AS, you can choose whatever style you want.

It's very much the look you want -- when I started with AS, I did the artwork in Photoshop and then imported it. Over time I've done more and more with native AS tools. You certainly have more control with the AS tools, so now what I do is the characters in AS and the backgrounds in Photoshop (or a 3D program or whatever).

Thanks for the advice slowtiger and Erik! That sounds like a really good idea Erik, I'm going to use that method, thanks!
