How an I export at the highest quality in debut?

I recently installed Debut but I have very limited choices for output formats and resolution.

I know that resolution is a limitation of having the debut version of the software, Is there a workaround?

Also, how can I get more output formats? I have the option of FLASH and AVI but I would like the option to output in mpeg or MP4 or wmv. Is this possible.

Not even Pro can do more than SWF (with limitations), QuickTime (if you have QT installed - if you want this it's a free download from Apple; but 32 bit only - not an issue for Debut, but you can't use it on Pro 64 bit) and AVI (AVI on windows only).

You're stuck with 768*768 pixels on Debut. I can imagine a workaround based on using a compositing program and stitching together multiple renders, each of a different part of the image, but I wouldn't even think seriously about going there... try shopping around for Pro - there are often deals that bring the price down by quite a way (USD66 on Amazon.com right now - that price might not last of course!...) http://www.amazon.com/Smith-Micro-Softw ... udio+pro+9

That is good info, thanks.

Will my debut projects open in Pro with no problem?

no problems at all using Pro to open files made in Debut. The big limitation is that you can't use an earlier version (e.g. AS6, 7 or 8 ) open a file made in a later version (e.g. AS9); so don't buy a very cheap edition of Pro7 to open Debut9 files - it won't work.

If you need to create a video file in a format that AS won't output, you'll need to use another program to do the conversion. Most of the serious users use a video editor to composite output from AS, and those editors have a much broader output capability. There's plenty of discussion on this forum about the "ideal" output format from AS for use in other video editing programs.

Right. after installing Quicktime, I now have the mp4 format as an option and it looks great. And I do do post editing in another program.
