Anime Studio Debut 9 is "Not Responding" a lot

I'm going to try posting my problem here, since I got no replies on my last post. :(

Here's the problem I currently face with Anime Studio Debut 9:

Once I first got it as a birthday present a year ago, it started having this issue when I installed it on my computer. It would freeze whenever I try to do something, then a Windows "not responding" box would appear and shut down the program, making me upset. My parents are wondering why I never use the program, and I all ways tell them about this issue. In the past, I would animate with Photoshop Elements 7 by frame by frame, then animate them with WMM. I really want Debut 9 to coropoorate with my system, but it never seems to do so. I think that it might be a system issue or hard drive issue or a bug in the program, but I came here on this forum for help, but everyone seems to not notice this plea. I REALLY want to use Anime Studio, but with this going on, I can't animate with it if it's known for this issue and other bugs. I would greatly appreciate it if you would post your suggestions to help me fix this problem, and I would thank you so much if you can help me on this.

Thanks a lot users of the Anime Studio forum:

Well, you only signed up on the forum yesterday so the lack of a reply isn't due to not wanting to help. It's the weekend, it's spring. Give it some time.

The other issue is there are way too many variables to track down exactly what could be causing your problem. There is no "do this and it will work" solution for something like this.

You could have:
bad hard drive
bad ram
not enough ram
old computer
broken computer
conflicting applications
viruses...

There just isn't enough information.
Is Anime Studio the ONLY application with issues?
Do any other programs "hang"?
What version of Windows do you have?
How old is the computer?
Have you run any diagnostics?

If any of the above issues are part of this problem, this would have nothing to do with Anime Studio and it wouldn't be possible for anyone on this forum to help. You have to rule out computer issues first. Also make sure you have the latest version of Anime Studio, if you installed from the disk there is probably be an updated version you would need to download.

Deinstall and reinstall Anime Studio. Make sure you have the latest version.

First, try installing updates if you haven't. These include bug fixes.

Thank you for responding.

To Heyvern:

I have good ram space, no viruses, My computer insn't old or broken, it's running on Vista. This is the only program with the issue, however I notice that when on the task bar, photoshop would be antsy when anime studio is on the task bar. I got my computer in 2009 I believe, I'm not sure. I have 3 programs that are on startup, I need to get rid of them because I don't use them. They are Windows Live Messenger, Apple Sync Notifier wich dosen't work anymore, and this dell touch task bar thing. How does a program "hang"? I haven't done any diagnostics done yet. I have the current version. I could update though. I'll try the reinstalling process and putting it back again to see if it resolved the issue.

There might be an issue with your version of Quicktime. You may need to install the latest version.

You can download the updater at the Apple website: http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/
Note: You don't need to enter an email to download the updater.

Before you do, check the version you have, under Start -> QuickTime -> About QuickTime. The latest version is 7.7.3.
