psd will not open layers

Hi i am trying to open a psd and have all layers intact in anime studio pro 9, when i click image then choose psd file it dosent even give me the option to import layers.
I have got two folders in my photoshop psd one for head one for body.
I am using photoshop cs6
what could be causing this problem thanks again

Just guessing here: is there an option in PS to save as "Maximum compatibility" or "Use old PS format"? Try this.

Hi thanks for the reply on save as there is no option to save maximum compatability or use old format. any other ideas? thanks again

For an older version... do let us know if it works/worked for you.
Not sure this addresses your problem as I'm not quite certain what the problem is.
By the way... you are using 'import image' to open???
