It's fantastic, Chucky. It's great of the cut out look works, loved the frame by frame parts and how all that blends. It's really masterpiece. So inspiring. Thanks for sharing it.
Will you share the entire piece some day?

Yes, I agree, it's a masterclass work. The movement of bitmap images and the atmospheric effects are wonderful. Even the briefest motion of the wolf is perfect. Just amazing. Of course, I wouldn't expect anything less from chucky.

Wow.
This is amazing. Which parts were done in AS? If you did the "bokeh" effects (the little lights out of focus) in AS the I'd like to know your recipe.

Thanks slowtiger , yes all the particles all the animation is ASP, the drawing all in painter 12 ( actually the fbf where the guy falls was first animated in Mirage- can't afford to upgrade to TVP and then I traced it in painter)
The only thing with the bokeh effect is that a couple of times I used the defocus effect in Vegas to enhance that but mostly not, just particles in add mode, I was trying not to get too tangled with my work flow and keep it all in ASP as much as possible.
I am building quite a large library of various particles that are great for those little flourishes.
I'd love to be able to access style animation.
I'm still coming to terms with camera and scale which is difficult to match to what I already know from real world and 3d apps with the ASP camera and scale mysteries.
Hey is anyone else getting odd results from the 'add ' blending mode in 9?

Chucky, epic and beautiful. I especially like the rain droplets on the water to pick something small and obscure

This is marvellous. I love the artwork, the colours and the moody atmosphere. It has something of the feel of "Tale of Tales"

I'm new here (and to animation, if not to illustration), and I'm making this, my initial post, to say "wow!" This is right up my alley - fantasy illustration appeals to me and this is a superb example of how good it can be when brought to life with taste and skill. The art recalls Joseph Zucker (Dragonworld, The Tolkien Companion) and Ian Miller (Wizards, The Tolkien Bestiary) while also seeming original and inspired. It boggles my mind thinking of the work that went into this - more so that it is an excerpt. So much atmosphere...
