help with walking animation

First of all, hello everyone!

I am a new user of Anime Studio and this is my first post.

I have only been using it for a couple of months and most of that time has been spent watching tutorials/learning the basics/playing around with things.

I have also been checking out animations online and came across one on YouTube called 'Hard Furry Pets'. This was pretty well done and I liked the style of the characters and their movements and tried to emulate the technique. However, I cannot replicate a (rabbit) characters walking movement using bones alone. I'm pretty sure it could easily be done using a few switch layers but that would require more work than just manipulating the legs using bones. The bone rigging tutorials I have watched all covered separate legs and were obviously designed to be straightforward, so the standard rigging technique of using separate layers for each leg dont seem to work here due to the characters body shape.

Maybe its just lack of experience but does anyone fancy checking out the video and letting me know how they would animate the rabbit walking if they were doing it (there is a sequence near the end where the rabbit crosses the room and picks up a red shoe, that is the walking effect I am trying to master)?

Thanks

First, it would be better you post the video you are talking about and the exact minute of what you want to emulate. It would make easier to use to help you.

About walk cycles, there are several tutorials in the forum. Personally, I created my own "walk ruler" which I use for all my walk cycles:

About this kind of shapes, if you are on ASpro 9, it's very easy to get soft body and leg movement using smart bones. Anyway, it looks like this characters were made only binding points (in AS8 or previous).
