Hello there! I recently purchased ASP8 and I'm eager to learn how to use it. It's so frustrating that I can't just jump in to the whole animation process and get started because I'm an illustrator and drawing is no problem for me... However, even after watching tutorial after tutorial, I am still so LOST on using this software. I feel like an idiot! I'll keep trying but I think it is much easier to learn things if you have fellow animation experimenters who can guide you along a little. And honestly, I have no animation buddies. Any guidance is appreciated!

Start here and actually attempt to do what is being taught.

Unfortunately being able to draw is just part of the battle There are many ways to animate with AS, from using 'cutout style' images, to point animation, bone animation, or a combination of them all.

I highly reccomend getting to grips with the in app drawing tools - yes they can be frustrating coming from illustrator but they can do wonderful things, as well as giving you a low point count base to animate which you will be thankful for later down the line!

I've not watched those webinars but they are probably a good starting point. Also, doing the manual tutorials will really get you started... highly reccomended!

If you have specific issues, search, and post if you don't find a solution - we can't help issues as vague as 'i'm lost' but get started, and as you hit specific barriers feel free to ask.

There are good anime studio channels on youtube - "Incredible tutorials" and "Anime studio Pro 101", for example. Those two helped me a lot. You should check them out as well.

Thanks for the welcome! Much appreciated. I'm working to understand the tools for sure. I wasn't really asking for help...more so just introducing myself in my current state and ability and reaching out to others who also use AS. It'll be interesting to see where I go from this point. I have watched the webinars and several tutorials. I'm sure I'll figure it out in due time. I'm really thankful for your politeness and for taking the time out to reply!

What I mean is don't just watch them but actually attempt to do them yourself. You don't know how many people I talk to that just watch tutorials for hours and when they get to the end they still don't know how to do anything. Come to find out that they only watched and never attempted to follow along. So if you watch and do you will never come back and say, "after watching tutorial after tutorial, I am still so LOST on using this software."

It all takes time. Hang in there and you will do fine.
