I am new to Anime, in Beginner Mode. How do I add bones? I am missing the tool to do this that they show in the tutorial video.

First you have to create a bone layer. Then selec this layer, and all bone tools will be available to you, as long as you are on frame # 0.

Just reiterating what slowtiger said retsamekop. Creation of ANYTHING and everything should be done on frame zero. It's a concept I didn't get at first and AS doesn't make it very clear when you first start using it. I still think frame zero should look completely different to let users know they're on it but enough rambling.

1. Be on frame zero like slowtiger said.
2. Create artwork you want to add bones to.
3. Just under the layers pallet on the bottom right side of your screen click the first icon (if you hover over it, it will say new layer) and select bone layer.
4. YOU MUST left click and drag your first layer with your artwork INTO THE BONE LAYER. Otherwise the bones will not do anything to the artwork!

Always keep in mind if your on frame zero or in the timeline. Trying to manipulate bones in frame zero doesn't work for all the bone tools in it.
