Does anybody know if the F5 preview file is temporarily stored on the computer until overwritten? If so where is the default folder it goes into?

Yes, in my case it's stored on
C:\Users\Bubu\AppData\Local\Temp\.anme_preview.mov
PD: I searched it using
Search Everything, if you are on windows, I highly recommend you that little software.

Awesome ... Found it. Knew I could count on you
Definitely going to give Search Everything a shot. There's been more than a few times now that I've had trouble finding something on this computer.
Thanks again selgin!

I'm using Windows Vista. Mine was the same as Selgin's minus the Bubu folder...
This is awesome though. I can link that preview file into my music software. (Sony Acid) and the video track updates live. So now I can tweak music and sound f/x easier.
My workflow before was audio before animate. I think that's the traditional way of working. Basically record a radio play to animate to. But I ran into a few problems with audio for some of the cartoon. I didn't leave enough time in the soundtrack in spots.
Now I can work with Sony Acid and AS8 open at the same time. It's taken the guess work out. If the timing isn't mixing well in AS i just slide the sound around in Acid, render (about 10 seconds), then that WAV updates live in back in AS.
And now with the F5 preview linked into Acid I've got that quick video reference and I don't have to guess at how many frames a clip (ex: a broken window) needed to be moved. And F5 updates the cartoon live in Acid pretty quick too. It's pretty cool.
