transparent color

I have created a ghost. His color is blue but i want that his color is semi-transparent. How do i?
1. Create the curve of your character. Make sure to un-check "auto fill" and "auto outline".
2. Select the curve and select "create shape". Click on the colour field in the style window, choose your blue, then next to the rainbow column in the checkerboard column move the slider to a transparency value you like (somewhere about 128 which equals 50%). Click OK. Hit "space".
This is the way to make a single shape transparent. You may as well construct your character on several layers, with solid colours, then set each layer's transparency (called opacity here). This has the advantage of using transfer modes as well.
