Trace Image Issues

It seems that every time I ask a question to solve a problem, another problem arrises. But I thank you all for helping me so much.
This time's problem:
I make an image in photoshop. It's a simple black lined figure on a white background, and it's not small or overly detailed. I import it to Anime Studio. I ask the program to trace it, and every time it does, it over simplifies the image to absurdity. I've tried adjusting the threshold and other specs, but everytime it turns a very simple black-lined characture into a washed out collection of blurred lines. I thougth at one time that reducing the image before tracing might have been affecting the tracing, but it did the same thing when the image was original size.
I know I could just draw the image in Anime Studio and save some trouble, but photoshop allows me to manipulate the image more, and I didn't think it should matter once the image was transformed into a jpeg. Any suggestions? Thank you all for your time and effort.
